The Tamil community has faced tremendous obstacles and tragic events including the genocide of 2009, and continues to face oppression by the Sri Lankan Government. I’m so proud of the fact that despite all these adversities, the Tamil community has been able to flourish and continueto thrive today. This is a testament to the amazing strength and resilience you have as a community.   Like you, Sikhs have endured similar tragedies, including a genocide in 1984 and continued oppression by the Indian government, much like you’ve faced with the Sri Lankan government. As a Sikh, I share a personal understanding of some of the struggles you have endured as a community
